About the meeting: How is it that so many new products fail and the companies creating them lose millions of dollars? In many cases, it comes down to problems related to opportunity analysis.
This presentation focused on understanding and revealing new product initiative opportunities through qualitative ethnographic research as well as quantitative methodologies in order to support product business strategies, and mitigate risk to investments. These approaches can and have been employed across a wide spectrum of industries and brands.
About the Presenter: Ken Harris is the Executive Director of fredsparks, a product-strategy consulting group that delivers profitable solutions through efficient and effective research, analysis, and design programs. Ken’s design experiences run the gambit from working with start-ups to working with fortune 50 companies. He has provided training to corporate innovation teams, and has instructed and presented at multiple Universities and Professional Trade Conferences. Beyond providing his clients with profit creating initiatives Ken and his team have enjoyed recognition via a variety of national and international design and industry awarding organizations, as well as features in a variety of media.
About the event
This meeting is part of the weekly Venture Café Gathering at CIC. Every Thursday from 3:00 – 8:00pm, The Venture Café welcomes the innovation community to “a weekly gathering of innovators and startups. A place for serendipitous collisions to occur. Each week there are roundtable discussions, information tables, office hours with thought leaders, and guest speakers relevant to the ecosystem.”
